The 2025 Borneo Games (Malay: Sukan Borneo 2025; officially known as the VI Borneo Games or the 6th Borneo Games) is a multi-sport event involving regions on the island of Borneo. It is scheduled to take place from 24 to 28 September 2025 in Kuching, Sarawak after last being held in 2013 in Labuan.[2][3]
Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth, and Sports of Sarawak, Dato' Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah stated that Sarawak would like to re-organize the Borneo Games. He announced that the games will take place in the second half of 2025.[4]
Participants
Five (5) regions/contingents from three (3) countries participated in this event. Malaysia represented the largest number, followed by one each from Indonesia and Brunei.

The Games
Ceremony
The opening ceremony was held at the Perpaduan Stadium, Petra Jaya Sports Complex on 24 September 2025.[5][6] The closing ceremony was held on 28 September 2025 at the Perpaduan Convention Centre (PCC) Demak, Kuching, where East Kalimantan was chosen to host the 2027 Borneo Games.[7][8]
Sports events
The blowpipe (Malay: menyumpit) sports competition was initially cancelled due to lack of contingent participation.[9][10] However, this event will still take place according to the scheduled date.[11][12]
The golf event is listed as a VIP competition, and is not a competitive event.[13][14]
