The 1961 Dublin Senior Hurling Championship was the 74th staging of the Dublin Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Dublin County Board in 1887.[1]
St Vincent's entered the championship as the defending champions.[2]
The final was played on 11 June 1961 at Croke Park in Dublin, between University College Dublin and St Vincent's, in what was their first ever meeting in the final.[3] University College Dublin won the match by 3–09 to 1–09 to claim their fourth championship title overall and a first title in 13 years.[4]
