The Constituent Assembly (Arabic: الجمعية التأسيسية), was the unicameral parliament of the Second Syrian Republic in 1949 and 1950. It was tasked with drafting the new Constitution of the Syrian Republic after the fall of Hosni al-Zaim's rule. After the adoption of the Constitution in 1950, the Constituent Assembly declared itself a Chamber of Deputies in accordance with the provisions of the new Constitution.[1]
