Shirin M. Rai

Shirin M. Rai (Hindi शिरीन एम. राय; * 1. Dezember 1960^[1] in Delhi^[2]) ist eine indische Politikwissenschaftlerin, die Honorarprofessorin an der University of Warwick ist^[3] und Forschungsprofessorin an der School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) der University of London.^[4] 2021 wurde sie als Fellow (FBA) in die British Academy gewählt.^[5]

Shirin Rai machte das Bachelor- und das Master-Examen an der University of Delhi und wurde an der University of Cambridge zur Ph.D. promoviert. 1989 trat sie in die Fakultät für Politik und Internationale Studien der University of Warwick ein und wechselte 2022 an das SOAS in London, blieb aber Honorarprofessorin in Warwick.^[6]

Schwerpunkte ihrer Forschung sind die Politische Ökonomie der sozialen Reproduktion und ihre Kosten; geschlechtsspezifische globale Governance; politische Institutionenforschung.^[5]
