Lucy Noakes

Lucy Caroline Noakes (* 1. November 1964^[1]) ist eine britische Historikerin und Professorin an der University of Essex.^[2] Seit 2024 amtiert sie als Präsidentin der Royal Historical Society.^[3]

Noakes machte ihr Bachelor-Examen an der University of Sussex, wo sie auch zur Ph.D. promoviert wurde. Danach war sie wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin an der Southampton Solent University, der University of Portsmouth und der University of Brighton. Seit 2017 ist sie Professorin an der University of Essex. Eines ihrer wichtigsten Forschungsthemen ist die Geschichte von Tod, Trauer und Verlust in Kriegszeiten.^[2]
