Larry Sabato

Larry J. Sabato (* 7. August 1952 in Norfolk, Virginia) ist ein US-amerikanischer Politikwissenschaftler und Hochschullehrer.^[1]

Larry Sabato studierte Politikwissenschaft, zunächst an der University of Virginia, wo er 1974 den Bachelorgrad erwarb. Anschließend setzte er sein Studium an der Princeton University und an der University of Oxford (Queen’s College) fort. Dort promovierte er zum D.Phil. Nach kurzer Tätigkeit als Dozent am New College in Oxford kehrte er an die University of Virginia zurück. Dort arbeitet er seit 1978 als Hochschullehrer, zuletzt als Professor für „Government and Foreign Affairs“. 1998 gründete er an dieser Universität das „Center for Politics“ und leitet es seither. Er gehört mehreren Fachgremien an und wirkte als Gastprofessor an mehreren Hochschulinstiutionen in den USA und Großbritannien. Außerdem ist er regelmäßiger Gesprächsteilnehmer in Fernsehsendungen.

Larry Sabato gilt als Kritiker als politischen Systems in den USA. Einige seiner Veröffentlichungen richten sich an eine breite Leserschaft.
