Ken Booth (Politikwissenschaftler)

Ken Booth (* 29. Januar 1943^[1]) ist ein britischer Politikwissenschaftler und emeritierter Professor für Internationale Beziehungen der walisischen Aberystwyth University.^[2] 1995/96 amtierte er als Vorsitzender der British International Studies Association (BISA).^[3] 2006 wurde er in die British Academy aufgenommen (FBA).^[4]

Booth war Gastprofessor am Naval War College, am kanadischen Dalhousie University (Kanada), der University of Cambridge, der University of Southern California und der Universität Antwerpen. Seine Hauptforschungsgebiete waren bis Mitte der 1980er-Jahre Strategische Studien mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf Atomwaffen, Abrüstung und Rüstungskontrolle, Marinestrategie und Sicherheit in Europa. Danach wandte er sich stärker den Theorien der Internationalen Beziehungen zu.^[5]
