James V. Haxby
James Van Loan Haxby (* 20. Mai 1951 in Minneapolis) ist ein US-amerikanischer Neurowissenschaftler.
Haxby ist Professor am Dartmouth College. Er war von 2008 bis 2021 Direktor des dortigen Dartmouth Center for Cognitive Neuroscience.
Haxby studierte am Carleton College und an der Universität Bonn. 1981 wurde er mit einem PhD in Klinischer Psychologie an der University of Minnesota promoviert. Nach Forschungstätigkeiten am National Institutes of Health und am National Institute of Mental Health wurde er 2002 Professor an der Princeton University. 2008 wechselte er an das Dartmouth College.
Seine Forschungsgebiete sind unter anderem die Gesichtswahrnehmung sowie die Anwendung von Maschinellem Lernen auf die Funktionelle Bildgebung.
