George Thomas Kurian

George Babu Thomas Kurian (* 4. August 1931 in Changanacherry;^[1] † 2015^[2]) war ein indischstämmiger, eingebürgerter US-amerikanischer Historiker und Schriftsteller, der vor allem als Herausgeber zahlreicher Enzyklopädien und Nachschlagewerke bekannt wurde.^[3] Er war Gründer und Präsident der Society of Encyclopedists und Mitherausgeber der World Christian Encyclopedia, der Encyclopedia of Christian Civilizations, des Dictionary of Christianity sowie der Encyclopedia of Christian Literature.^[4][5][6]

1951 erwarb Kurian einen Master-Abschluss am Madras Christian College.^[1]

Er war Präsident der Encyclopedia Society und Herausgeber von 65 Büchern, darunter 28 Enzyklopädien.^[2] Außerdem war er Mitglied der World Academy of Art and Science.^[7]

Seine Ehefrau heißt Annie, seine Tochter Sarah Claudine.^[1]
