Die Communauté d’agglomération Grand Châtellerault ist ein französischer Gemeindeverband mit der Rechtsform einer Communauté d’agglomération im Département Vienne in der Region Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Sie wurde am 24. Dezember 1993 gegründet und umfasst aktuell 47 Gemeinden. Der Verwaltungssitz befindet sich in der Stadt Châtellerault.[2]
Historische Entwicklung
Mit Wirkung vom 1. Januar 2017 wurde die Anzahl der Gemeinden vom zuletzt 12 auf aktuell 47 aufgestockt. Dies erfolgte durch Auflösung der Gemeindeverbände
- Communauté de communes Les Portes du Poitou,
- Communauté de communes des Vals de Gartempe et Creuse und
- Communauté de communes du Lencloîtrais,
von der sich jedoch die Gemeinden La Bussière und Saint-Pierre-de-Maillé einem anderen Gemeindeverband anschlossen.
Der ursprünglich als Communauté d’agglomération du Pays Châtelleraudais gegründete Verband wurde mit Wirkung vom 1. Januar 2018 auf die aktuelle Bezeichnung umbenannt.
