Andrei Orlov

Andrei A. Orlov (* 1960 in Moskau, Sowjetunion) ein US-amerikanischer Professor für Judentum und Christentum der Antike an der Marquette University. Er gilt als Spezialist für jüdischen Apokalyptik und Mystik, das Judentum der Zeit des Zweiten Tempels sowie für alttestamentliche Pseudepigraphen. Innerhalb der apokalyptischen Literatur des Judentums der Zweiten-Tempel-Zeit wird Orlov als einer der führenden Experten für slawische Texte im Zusammenhang mit jüdischer Mystik und den Henoch-Traditionen angesehen^[1]. Er hat sich als eine bedeutende Stimme in der Erforschung der jüdischen Traditionen der Zweiten-Tempel-Zeit etabliert, insbesondere jener, die mit 2 Henoch und anderen slawischen Pseudepigraphen verbunden sind^[2]. Orlov ist ein langjähriger Teilnehmer des Henoch-Seminars und Mitglied des wissenschaftlichen Beirats der Zeitschrift Henoch. Orlov gehört der Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas und der Society of Biblical Literature.
